Social Security Disability (SSDIB) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

If you are unable to work due to an injury, illness or other condition, then you may be entitled to Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income benefits.

These are the two “disability” benefits that are managed by the Social Security Administration. Both of these benefits are only available to disabled workers who meet certain criteria called “Listings of Impairments” or through a 5-Step Sequential Analysis that factors the claimant’s age, education, past relevant work, impairments, residual functional capacity, and ability to perform any work in the national economy.
